Marvin Mumford

With so many new songwriters, artist and songs being introduced on a daily basis, Marvin Mumford has become a refreshing breeze in the mist of this musical world. He has quickly become one of today’s emerging songwriters and worship leaders. With a style that transcends most musical genres, Marvin’s music has a unique ability to minister to the cry of any soul.
Marvin broke onto the scene as the lead singer for the group “Coming Soon”, which released their first project in 2002 called “Coming to A Soul Near You”. Following a two year tour, in 2004, Marvin launched out on a solo career by releasing a debut double cd entitled “Evening Worship Vol. I & II”. In 2005, after a year off of the road, Marvin released his first worship album “Worship for an Audience of One”. This was quickly followed in 2006, with the release of a sophomore project called “The Color of Worship”. Following a tour promoting the releases of both worship projects, in 2007 Marvin was given the opportunity to write and produce for Jazz legend Stanley Baird (saxophonist). This collaboration produce a ground-breaking project entitled “Traffic Jam”, which was featured in Billboard Magazine and R & R Magazine. In response to a few personal tragedies, Marvin released a single “Dance in the Rain” which was written to provide joy and hope to anyone experiencing loss or pain. Marvin’s newest release, “SHOUT” Worship 4 Kidz Vol. I has taken been a long awaited project. Available on iTunes, Nimbit, and Cdbaby the cd has taken off. Children as well as parents have been so blessed by each song. You will here such hit’s as “Shout”, “He Lives In You & Me”, and “I Believe” along with a host of other great songs for your family enjoyment. Marvin has also completed a musical journal DVD that chronicles a month in a psalmist life thru song which is available on Youtube & Facebook.
Marvin is married to his college sweetheart Jinaki Petty Mumford, they have three boys: Marvin II, Myles, and Micah. He also has two other children, Patrice and Dominique. Marvin and his family live in Atlanta, GA.
